Ladies in Waiting
I was fortunate enough to pick up a last minute review show for the first performance of Ladies in Waiting an Early Worx in theatre and art production. The performance showcases the work of three talented local female actors, Amy Victoria Brooks, Elizabeth Hay and Hannah Bennett. There are only three women, but so many stories. You will be swept up by these powerful monologues about women waiting. Women waiting for men, waiting for a cure, waiting for someone to die, waiting for the pain to stop, waiting for liberation, for political change. Waiting.
Having just come from a rather stressful and demoralising speed dating event (women waiting for men?), I was able to successfully switch off my own life and immerse myself into the lives of these characters. It was just what I needed, thank you.
